General Manager of a contracting firm operating in Southern California, coupled with a manufacturing facility located in Tijuana, BC, Mexico. I set up this "maquiladora" in support of a San Diego based C-6 contractor, acquiring all permits, licenses and contracts for import/export of raw materials and finished goods. Managed the manufacturing plant, while simultaneously managing all aspects of the contracting business. Generated cost proposals, drawings and contracts, administered all accounting and legal functions and spearheaded all marketing efforts. Successfully relocated all fabrication operations to the Mexico facility, while maintaining quality and delivery goals of zero defects and on-time delivery/installation.

As part of the turnaround team, managed all production of a high-end commercial and residential range and grill line, in a 330,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility, with 760 employees, and annual sales of $110 MM. Reduced payroll by over $2MM, and increased production by 23%; reduced turnover by 13% and shortened lead-time from 4.5 months to 2 weeks. Assisted in transitioning the company through restructuring, prior to sale to off-shore interests.

Managed all aspects of Mexico-based manufacturing plant for Fiskars Brands, Inc. Had P&L responsibility for operation which included injection molding, assembly, printing, grinding, sharpening, etching and packaging, as well as a separate industrial sewing division. Performed feasibility study on establishment of a new operation in South America.
